Another strong ally of the Philippines raised concern about China’s aggression and water cannon attack against the Philippine military vessels.

The Embassy of Korea in the Philippines posted on its Facebook Page their statement:

“On the recent use of water cannons against the Philippines Coast Guard vessels in the South China Sea, the ROK Embassy in the Philippines is concerned about the actions that raise tensions in these waters. The Embassy reaffirms its support for peace, stability, and rules-based order in the South China Sea, as an important international sea lane of communications, and for the freedom of navigation and overflight based on the principles of international law, including UNCLOS,” it says.

China draws flak from the international community for its latest excessive and dangerous action against the Philippine military vessels inside the exclusive economic zone. While the Philippines has been earning more support from the international community and call to respect the rule of law has been reiterated.

Apart from South Korea, statements of condemnation of China and support for the Philippines were already given by the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union, Germany and France.
