Uniqlo opens biggest store in Mindanao today

The biggest Uniqlo store in Mindanao will reopens today, July 19, with an expanded 1,414 square meters shopping area in SM Lanang Premier, this city.

During the ribbon-cutting and pre-opening event on Wednesday, July 17, dubbed as Uniqlo Exclusive VIP Shopping, Uniqlo Chief Operations Officer Masayoshi Nakamura said the store previously had a sales area of 767 square meters.

The store flew in 2017 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzback and stylist/designer Bea Constantino for Uniqlo Style Talks as part of the pre-opening event.

With a bigger space, Nakamura said the Japanese global apparel retailer aims to give customers brand new shopping experience with a wider variety of clothing choices.

Mindanao presently has four Uniqlo stores. Aside from SM Lanang, the other 3 stores are located in SM City Davao, SM General Santos City, and SM CDO Downtown Premier.

The stores feature clothing lines for men, women, kids, and infants.

“We have opened a total of 57 stores since 2012 and we are looking to open more by the end of the year,” Nakamura said. (First published by PNA, July 18, 2019)
