A board member of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), Gayatri Bery, has been conferred as a Qualified Risk Director® after being awarded a prestigious Certificate in Risk Governance® from the DCRO Institute, the world’s leading source of risk governance training and credentials for board members and c-suite executives. 

The Qualified Risk Director® designation is an elite recognition conferred exclusively by the DCRO Institute and given only to those with distinguished ability to link corporate strategy to the positive governance of risk-taking. 

The certificate is awarded to individuals who successfully complete The Board Members’ Course on Risk®, which is an immersive educational program consisting of 17 rigorous courses and evaluations.

Designed for both current and aspiring board members, this curriculum aims to elevate the governance of risk-taking within organizations globally. Delivered by distinguished figures in risk governance worldwide, the program showcases insights from nearly 50 board members, top-level executives, and renowned authors spanning five continents. 

Based in Hong Kong, Bery serves as a non-executive director and member of the Risk Oversight Committee for RCBC, one of the largest banks in the Philippines. 

Bery gained financial experience from Drexel Burnham & Lambert (New York), Ranieri & Company (New York), Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated (New York and Hong Kong), and managed investments in Hong Kong. 

She likewise serves as a non-executive director and Audit and Risk Committee member for Clearwater China Investments Limited (CCIL) in Hong Kong. Most recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer, Global Capital Markets Asia-Pacific, of Morgan Stanley (Hong Kong) where she was also a member of the Steering Committee of Morgan Stanley’s HK Women’s Business Alliance Team. 

Bery graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics/Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University (Pennsylvania, USA), and obtained a Master of Business Administration (Beta Gamma Sigma) from Columbia Business School (New York, USA).
