One can say that the Zenith collection is the harbinger of a Rolls-Royce production finale. Just as how the 2016 release of the Zenith Phantom VII marked the end of a 14-year Phantom series, the marque announced earlier this month the its coming out with an extremely limited Zenith Collector’s Edition of the Rolls-Royce Ghost.

Only 50 of these sedans will be made for true Rolls-Royce fans to mark the pinnacle of its manufacture since first coming out in 2009.

Zenith cars, always an end-of-series collectible, are a testament to the brand’s pursuit of reaching the apex of craftsmanship and perfection embraced by luxury and sophistication. As such, the Zenith version will feature the Ghost’s highest level of Bespoke and embroidery design cues, mimicking the original 1907 Silver Ghost which is considered as the most expensive car in the world.

According to Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the Zenith collection for the Ghost exhibits how the car ascended to the status of being the most progressive super-luxury saloon ever conceived.

“This unique Collection provides patrons of the marque with a rare opportunity to own a motor car truly evocative of our time. Ghost is the most successful Rolls-Royce ever created and the Zenith Collection marks an important milestone in our modern history,” he said.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost was introduced officially in April 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and was made available five months later. Although the Ghost Extended Wheelbase went live in 2011, offering an additional 17cm legroom in the rear, the Ghost Zenith Collection will borrow more references from its concept car before inception which is the 200EX.

The original 200EX Spirit of Ecstasy was also melted down to produce a commemorative ingot set in to the center console of each of the 50 Zeniths. An engraving of a blueprint-inspired artwork enlarged to a point of abstraction has been divided into 50 distinct parts, one for each Ghost Zenith culminating homage to Ghost.

Each Zenith will be embellished by illuminated door pockets thanks to the ambient light emitted through perforated leather. If that is not dreamy enough, shooting stars will fire randomly across the cabin roof as part of the starlight headliner’s series of 1,340 fiber-optic lights.

For color options, a special two-tone application and a gloss-contrast paint finish will be available on three different colour-ways, Iguazu Blue with Andalusian White, Premiere Silver with Arctic White, and Bohemian Red with Black Diamond. As the pointer of the Ghost’s finality, the collection is now being hand-crafted at The Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex, the only place where these super-luxury motor cars are built.
