Editor’s Note: Mr. Manuel Morato donated his personal collection of the US flag that bore 48 stars and was used in the Bataan Death March to Donald Trump as he believes this rightly belongs to the US government. He wrote President Donald Trump and informed him about the background of this flag which he sent today via DHL.

Your Excellency, President Donald J. Trump
C/o Chief of Staff, Secretary Mark Meadows
The White House, Washington D.C.
Dear Mr. President:
Sir, instead of introducing myself, I am enclosing my biodata.
Briefly, I was educated in the United States from High School at Georgetown Preparatory School in Garrett Park, Maryland; to college at Loyola University of Los Angeles, California.
Mr. President, I’ve been an art collector since I was 13 years old; and an important piece in my collection is this American Flag which was carried by an American soldier in the Bataan Death March on April 9, 1942.
Mr. President, I wish to donate this flag to you with 48 stars used in the Bataan Death March. It is a sacred flag which you, Mr. President, can donate to the U.S. Government where it truly belongs; for the patriotism and bravery of the American soldiers who sacrificed their lives, together with our Filipino compatriots.
This flag is tainted with blood. I kept it as it was found in the corn-field of Bataan where the American soldier carrying this flag died. The American soldier twisted this flag and wrapped it around his waist. He died with the flag wrapped around his waist, bloodied.
Honestly, I kept it inside my private chapel, a place I prayed in every day; and I included the souls of those who died in the Death March in Bataan. I am donating it to you, Mr. President, which you, in turn, can donate it to the museum.
I am not a voter of your country. I wish I were for I want you to win in this coming election on November 3, 2020.
You are a great man; the best President the United States of America ever had. And I mean it.
Allow me to mention that Supreme Court Justice you appointed, Justice Neil Gorsuch is my co-alumnus in Georgetown Prep. I am much ahead of him, class of 1953.
God bless you, Mr. President. Four more years!
Manuel L. Morató
