British Chamber of Commerce Philippines welcomed the British delegates at the reception dinner of the Philippine-British Meat Trade Mission held last May 17 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.

In his opening remarks, Chris Nelson British Chamber of Commerce Philippines Executive Director and Trustee shared his elation as guests and representatives from the British Embassy Manila joined the dinner.

“I welcome all of you to the first face-to-face event of the chamber. This is an exciting event because we are bullish that significant long-term partnerships between Filipino and British companies will take place in the next two days,” Nelson said.

“We really prepared for this. We are also very happy that we got support from our partner, Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), represented by Susan Stewart, the Senior Exports Manager, and joining virtually from the UK is Jonathan Eckley, Head of Asia Pacific Export (Livestock) Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board,” he added.

For his part, British Deputy Head of Mission to the Philippines British Embassy Manila, Alistair White congratulated Chris Nelson and the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines team for taking this initiative to create business opportunities between Philippine and British companies.

White looks forward to many more cooperations between the Philippines and the United Kingdom and assured that the UK Embassy will continue to work closely with the government and with the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines to explore more opportunities that may have along the way.

Meanwhile UK Company representatives from Dunbia, Foyle, Dingley Dell Pork, ABP Food Group, Buitelaar Group, Morrisons, GPS Food Group and NORWEST foods international ltd. look forward to establishing fruitful and meaningful long-term partnerships with Philippine companies and business owners they will meet and learn more about the Philippine meat industry.
