Cities are at the heart of economic growth and innovation. Recognizing this, Globe Business has boosted its partnership with non-profit Liveable Cities Philippines (LCC) to accelerate the digital transformation of essential public services across the nation.

“Strengthening our partnership with Liveable Cities Philippines is a key step for us in advancing the digital transformation of public services. With our comprehensive technology solutions, we’re focused on helping cities create efficient and secure technology ecosystems,” said KD Dizon, VP and Head of Globe Business.

“Our partnership with Globe Business has been instrumental in our mission to enhance the competitiveness and resilience of Philippine cities. Globe’s technology and expertise have been invaluable in helping us support LGUs in their efforts to digitize public services and improve overall urban management,” said Bill Luz, Chairman of Liveable Cities Philippines.

LCC addresses a range of contemporary challenges facing cities, including pressing economic, social, and environmental issues. It also prioritizes disaster preparedness, traffic congestion, and urban sustainability.

Globe Business serves as a solutions consultant and partner for local government units (LGUs), offering a one-stop shop for various technological requirements relevant to identified cities. Through the alliance, Globe Business has been actively involved in various LCC Labs, which serve as platforms for sharing best practices, innovative solutions, and appropriate technologies.

These Labs, held online and in hybrid formats, bring together public and private sector participants to discuss themes such as connectivity, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital health solutions.

In the first half of 2024, Globe Business participated in three Regular Labs covering a range of topics, from navigating natural disasters and building stronger communities to waste management. Additionally, two Local Labs were conducted in Zamboanga City and Tagbilaran City, focusing on building future-ready cities.

Looking ahead, Globe Business and LCC plan to continue their collaborative efforts, with upcoming Labs scheduled in Batangas and Puerto Princesa in the second half of 2024.

Through their combined efforts, Globe Business and LCC help ensure that cities remain at the forefront of economic and digital progress.
