WOFEX set to bolster culinary tourism, collaboration with industry players

The country’s biggest, grandest and longest running food expo is back after two years of hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting August 3, the World Food Expo 2022, with the theme Evolution Continues will officially open and run until August 6, to welcome back food-lovers, industry stakeholders and budding entrepreneurs to find out what are the latest trends and news in the food and hospitality industry.
The much anticipated World Food Expo (WOFEX) keeps up its tradition to hold simultaneous in two venues, namely, the SMX Convention Center and World Trade Center.
Now on its 22nd year and fresh from successful and highly attended regional shows in Baguio (WOFEX Luzon), Cebu (WOFEX Visayas) and Davao (WOFEX Mindanao), the Ultimate Food Show Experience is back in Manila and expects more visitors to flock in the show.
Speaking to THEPHILBIZNEWS, Joel Pascual President of PEPTarsus said, “While we know that the pandemic has developed various products and way to promote business or business activities, nothing beats a face-to-face event.”
“And for WOFEX, the two years hiatus has given us ample time to consider a lot of things in rolling out this event since many have been asking us about the on-ground exhibition. There are many considerations, like safety protocols and social distancing. All of these are going to be implemented to ensure everyone’s safety while making sure they also get to attend the trade show,” he said.
“We are as excited as the food-loving public and other entrepreneurs who want to see the new trends and some opportunities to seize. The WOFEX 2022 which we dubbed as Evolution Continues, will continue to be at the forefront of promoting not just business, trends and opportunities in the country and industry. But more importantly, to be one of the agents of economic recovery as we are all expect to rebound from the woes of the pandemic,” he added.

Expo hours are from 10 am to 7 pm with registration closing at 6:30 pm. Entrance fee is P 200. Only 16 years old and above will be allowed entry. All attendees will need to present their vaccination cards and will have to wear face masks.
