Veering away from the usual on-ground trade mission in the United Kingdom, the British Chamber of the Philippines held its first-ever virtual trade mission which was attended by 30 companies.

In the media advisory sent to THEPHILBIZNEWS by the BritCham PH, the virtual trade mission was a resounding success, and their Executive Chairman and Trustee Chris Nelson said it turned out better than expected given the limitation on its digital version which limits physical face-to-face dealings.

“There are thirty companies from various industries join,” Mr. Nelson said. “They are from automotive, education, food and beverage, retail, IT, Consulting, and HR Consulting,” he added.

Mr. Nelson also pointed out that even if it was held virtually, he had the chance to have in-depth discussions with all the participants.

The Executive Chairman of the British Chamber noted that the ones who might start soon doing business in the Philippines are from the food and drink and retailing industries.

Mr. Nelson is also happy that new companies are also strongly expressed their intention which he intends to accelerate to convert their interests into a concrete investment in the country and that is the reason he revealed to make a follow-up on these companies and will continue to promote the Philippines to the British companies which he sees very critical to do given the limitation of travel and movement to visit them personally.

But even before the launch of BCCP’s first virtual Trade Show, Mr. Nelson spent several months in the UK and visited some companies there before he decided to come back to Manila last September.
