The application period for Filipino candidates seeking employment in Japan under the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) has been extended until April 24, 2026, giving aspiring nurses and careworkers additional time to apply.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in partnership with the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services, is accepting applications for 50 nurse (Kangoshi) and 300 certified careworker (Kaigofukushishi) positions bound for Japan.

Qualified applicants will undergo a comprehensive language and cultural training program, including six months of Japanese language instruction in the Philippines and another six months in Japan. During this period, candidates will receive a daily living allowance.

Upon completion of training, successful candidates will be deployed to hospitals and caregiving facilities across Japan for a period of three to four years.

Participants are encouraged to pursue Japanese licensure as Kangoshi and Kaigofukushishi, which can open pathways for longer-term employment opportunities in Japan.

Applicants may refer to the official announcements of the DMW and JICWELS for detailed requirements and application procedures.
