MPower, the local retail electricity supplier of Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has signed a retail supply agreement with ABS-CBN Corporation, covering its main buildings in Quezon City.
The partnership supports the media company’s operations in terms of supply security and competitive rates.
Under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), electricity consumers who qualify under the prevailing threshold—currently set at a minimum of 500 kilowatts (kW) by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC)—are empowered to choose their energy supplier based on their specific requirements.
“Working with MPower ensures that ABS-CBN has stable power to support its mission of delivering quality public service and entertainment content across various media platforms in the service of the Filipino,” said Grant Orbeta, Head of ABS-CBN’s Real Estate and Development Group.
ABS-CBN has been part of MPower’s valued customers when the RES started its services in June 2013.
“Our renewed partnership with ABS-CBN reflects our constant dedication to delivering retail excellence and driving growth across diverse business industries,” said Redel M. Domingo, Meralco First Vice President and MPower Head.
The partnership further highlights the shared commitment of both companies to operational excellence and national economic growth, with the goal of enhancing the lives of the Filipino people.
