Brilliant, transformative, visionary, and collaborative minds converged in the Taiwan-led 2024 Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) and the 2050 Net Zero City Expo.
Running on its 11th year, the past Smart City Summit and Expo events were well attended as buyers, stakeholders in both private and public sectors look for new technology that address solutions to various needs such as in traffic management, energy and power efficiency, health, transportation, logistics, and defense, to name a few.
This year, the organizers beamed with pride as delgates from the Europe, Middle East, US, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and even Philippines attended summit, mostly from the business and government.
There are other countries that also joined to expo to explore partnership with Taiwan not just in the government but also with the Taiwanese start-up companies that aso showcased the technology solutions not only in Smart City but also innovations that address issues on population growth, mitigate climate change impacts, mobility, health and sustainable environment, among others.
Delegates expressed optimism to learn more not just from the tried and tested technologies, but also from the experts who will share their experience and journey in embarking the Smart City and Net Zero Goal in their respective country or city.
For his part, Petr Pavlinec Head of the Information Technology Department of Vysočina Region Czech Republic, Speaking to THEPHILBIZNEWS said that, “The Czech Republic has been attending the Smart City Summit and Expo and has been using a lot of technologies from Taiwan.
“Taiwan’s technologies have really taken the world by storm. It’s fully integrated, relevant, future proof and impressive. What makes Taiwan admirable is they encourage startups and even young people to identify the gaps and develop the technologies that play crucial role in addressing these problems, say the reduction of Carbon dioxide (CO2) such as the one of the highlights in this 2024 Smart City Summit & Expo.
Meanwhile, Korean company Seoul My Soul, and the City of Sapporo (Japan) expressed excitement in attending the Taiwan Smart City Summit & Expo and the 2050 Net Zero City Expo as both delegates are bullish to future collaboration with Taiwan and other countries.
Dr. Kang Yosik, President of Seoul Digital Foundation speaking to the media said that Seoul My Soul joined the summit in Taiwan, because he sees vast opportunity to collaborate with the world, and the targeted business visitors of Taiwan Smart City Summit & Expo really provide the right market.
While City of Sapporo Economic Strategy Promotion Department Chief Messrs. ABE Keitaro and Masaki YONEKAWA said to the media, that the plan of Sapporo to collaborate with other companies, cities and countries as Sapporo gears up to open a hub that will focus on IT, Renewable Energy, and Semi-conductor.
Sapporo is known for its Yuki Matsuri and also one of the food baskets of Japan. Mindful of their other potentials, such as IT, Semiconductor and Renewable Energy, the City of Sapporo Economic Strategy Promotion Department is ready to bolster other business and investment opportunities that the city has to offer to the world.
Truly, the 2024 Smart City Summit & Expo was a resounding success, as it did not only showcase the best and finest of Taiwan in tech and innovation such as AI, Green and Transformation, Defense, Mobillity, Healthcare, and a lot more. But the event fosters global collaboration to make life easier, and to enhance efficiency in the delivery of service be it in private or public sectors. At the same time, it addresses the ever-changing challenges using the latest technological innovation, and remains relevant, future proof and productive without compromising the future of the envorinment for the next generation to enjoy and sustain.
