The Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA) and Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC) have joined forces in an unprecedented collaboration aimed at strengthening the country’s hotel industry. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two organizations will facilitate a secure and structured exchange of knowledge, data, and best practices among hospitality stakeholders to raise industry standards and attract investments.

This groundbreaking initiative will result in the creation of a range of valuable knowledge products, including reports, briefs, and surveys, which will guide decision-makers and investors. Included in the MoU is the preparation of a comprehensive hotel supply and pipeline report that will provide an overview of existing and future room inventory in the Philippines. This report will aid stakeholders in assessing market supply and demand, as well as competition. Additionally, the partners will conduct a hotel investment outlook survey, providing unique insights into the investment landscape, identifying growth opportunities, and fostering investor confidence.

PHOA Vice President Al Legaspi who represented PHOA President Arthur Lopez expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, citing its potential to revolutionize the hospitality industry. “This collaboration closes an information deficiency that has been hindering the full potential of the hotel industry,” said Legaspi. “We believe in the significant economic impact tourism can have and are committed to setting new standards for the industry.”

Data has become the lifeblood of the hotel industry. In today’s digital age, where information is readily available and consumer preferences constantly evolve, harnessing the power of data has become crucial for hoteliers to stay competitive and meet the ever-changing demands of guests. “This project will be a game-changer that will make our industry more globally competitive,” said Legaspi.

David Leechiu, CEO of LPC, acknowledged the historical existence of an information gap within the hotel industry, which has impeded its progress. He stated, “For a long time, the hotel industry has faced an information discrepancy preventing its full potential from being unleashed. This initiative exemplifies our unwavering faith in tourism as a vital driver of economic growth, as well as our commitment to pioneering new industry standards.”

In addition to sharing insights on guest preferences, market trends, and customer feedback, PHOA and LPC aim to equip stakeholders with strategies to enhance the overall guest experience. This includes strategies focused on minimizing environmental impact and promoting responsible tourism.

The partners will also embark on a series of roadshows across the Philippines, ensuring that regional players have access to the knowledge and insights generated through this collaboration.

Leechiu Property Consultants, Inc. (LPC), the country’s premier real estate advisory firm, commits to deliver strategic real estate solutions to its esteemed clients and partners through its expertise in Tenant and Landlord Representation, Investment Sales, General Brokerage, Research and Consultancy, Data Analytics, and Property Valuation.

(PHOA), is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of owners of the country’s major accommodation providers — hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, and the like. We protect and promote the common interests and concerns of members by pooling together talents and resources that advocate the development of the Philippine hospitality industry.
