The cliché, “A sound mind in a sound body” depicts how important to be physically healthy, and that fact is not contentious at all. For women, apart from being physically healthy, it is empirical to not just be presentable but also to look good and consequently feel good! Hence, beauty and health and wellness products become in demand as many see the value of being beautiful inside out.
While there are many commercially available products in the market, be it in the brick and mortar shops or online stores, the fact remains that not all beauty products are the same.
The Philippine market is flooded with cosmetic products claimed from America, Europe, Korea and Japan, but the issue remains, are these products sold online genuine? Are they really formulated for Filipino skins or are their claims true? Obviously, one can really never tell given the fact of the proliferation of fake goods being sold online and in bad faith to the willing victims.
There are many issues tackled during the enlightening discussions to the unraveling of science behind renowned products. The Power House Lab provided honest-to-goodness answers to lingering questions in the curious minds of beauty enthusiasts who attended the event hosted by UL Skin Sciences, Inc. (ULSSI), the personal care business unit of Unilab Health Group. The event highlighted the intersection between science, knowledge, nature and beauty that empower Filipino lives. Looking good creates a good mood!
Powered by the best skincare solutions for Filipinos, Danie Laurel welcomed journalists and beauty content creators to the Power House Lab event at the cozy place of 1120 House in Makati City. The event showcased high-quality, trusted, safe, and effective beauty products as well as ULSSI’s aim to address environmental factors and emerging skin issues by continuously improving their formula. Further, Ice breaker games such as ‘Would You Rather’ (PS: Yes, I would rather do a nighttime skincare routine for a year) and ‘Guess The Quantity of Water Crystal Bead Inside the Jar’ were undoubtedly enjoyed by the lovely attendees.
During the Q&A portion with Ms. Christine Navarrete-Catanghal, Ms. Kathryn Carag, and Ms. Clarinda Ellazar, they highlighted the need to be prominently present in the market with skincare, well-being, and beauty products, ensuring that consumers recognize the competence of ULSSI.
In order to reach the mission of empowering lives with beauty and well-being solutions that people trust and love, they also emphasized having a stringent quality standard process that ensures that they release a top-notch product — as supported by health and science.
“There is so much misinformation out there. With popular products, for example, they say they are SPF 50 — we assessed it; but it’s not SPF 50, it’s actually SPF 8… So, we [in ULSSI] wanted to make sure that Filipinos know that the content is not just ‘talk’, but it has to be boosted and bolstered by [a] company that they can trust,” said Division Vice President Carag. Therefore, achieving a glamorous you on a budget is within reach, and UL Skin Sciences Inc. is definitely here to support you!
A Timeless Tapestry: Beauty, Health and Well-Being
The Power House Lab event showcased not only the anticipation of new formulation, but also provided the opportunity to experience and assess five key tests—measuring hydration, moisture levels, pH balance, UV protection efficacy, and innovation.
Guests were also able to witness firsthand the science and excellence behind UL Skin Sciences Inc. products of the leading brands in skincare and feminine care like Myra, pH Care, and Celeteque.
For this year, ULSSI released a new product. DirtBugSun™ Total Protection Mosquito Repellant is the only anti-mosquito lotion in the country that offers additional germ and sun protection. Clinically proven to be gentle, safe, and effective for children aged 4-12 years, its active ingredient IR3535, shields the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, guarding against disease-causing germs and bacteria. It is also hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, and safe for kids to use up to 4.5 hours of protection against dengue-causing mosquitoes.
New and improved formulations await exploration! As I have had an early chance to test some of the upcoming products to be released soon, I can confidently affirm that the formula is remarkably lightweight and hydrating for the skin. So, stay tuned for more.
Thank you for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, UL Skin Sciences Inc.’s Power House Lab!
