With food exhibits, cooking demonstrations, and culinary competitions, this year’s World Food Expo (WOFEX) features businesses from the food and hospitality industries, and highlights entrepreneurial opportunities to all participants and attendees.

The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) supports this biggest food trade show in the Philippines. Various exhibitors from across the world are participating in the event to showcase their products and explore opportunities in the Philippine market. This includes Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (ADHB), along with UK meat exporters’ representatives from Dunbia, Foyle, GPS Food Group, Norwest Foods International Ltd., and ABP Group.

“It’s great to be back in Manila because it’s my first time in five years. We’re excited to be exhibiting at WOFEX – with leading UK meat exporters – to meet our important importers and distributors here in the significant market of the Philippines,” said Jonathan Eckley, AHDB’s Head of International Trade Development.

In addition, British Chamber members such as Atkins Import and Export Resources Inc, Quorn, and GMSI also have their booths at the event.

“We have been collaborating with AHDB. This WOFEX event will help with food security, inflation, and overall promote UK meat products in the Philippines. We also look forward to the lowered tariffs again to be extended by the end of the year,” said Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson. He also mentioned that the Chamber strongly supports the Anti-Agricultural Smuggling Act to ensure consumers’ access to agricultural products.

WOFEX 2023 strengthens the UK-PH trade relations, particularly in the increasing value of British meat exports since the Philippines ranks as the UK’s second-biggest pork market outside Europe. The British Chamber fully supports this initiative as it not only provides an opportunity to sellers and buyers, but also serves as an avenue to advocacies such as increasing food security.

Visit the booths at SMX Convention Center and the World Trade Center until tomorrow, 5 August 2023.
