United Airlines unveils daily nonstop flights between MNL-SFO

Starting October 30, 2023, United to launch the airline’s first-ever trans-Pacific flight from Manila

United Airlines (UAL) announced today that it will start the new daily nonstop service from Manila (MNL) to San Francisco (SFO) beginning October 30, 2023 eastbound, subject to government approval. The new flight will be the airline’s first-ever trans-Pacific service from Manila since the airline started its Manila operation in 1982. The first westbound flight from SFO to MNL will depart on October 29, 2023.

Wally Dias, United’s Regional Director of Sales for Greater China, Korea and Southeast Asia, said, “We are excited to launch the new nonstop service from Manila to San Francisco to meet strong requests from our customers on both sides of the Pacific. With this new nonstop service, we will be able to offer our Manila customers not only the convenient daily nonstop service to San Francisco, but also more than 70 one-stop destinations in the mainland U.S., Canada and Latin America via our hub in San Francisco. We have more than 40 years of a long and rich history in the Manila market and the launch of our first trans-Pacific service truly shows our continued strong commitment to the Philippine market.”

Flight UA190 will leave MNL in the morning daily and will arrive in SFO in the early morning the same day. The return flight, UA191, will depart SFO around midnight daily and will arrive in MNL in the early morning two days later for most of the winter season. All flights will utilize the B777-300ER aircraft offering 60 seats in the United Polaris business cabin, 24 seats in the United Premium Plus cabin, and 266 seats in the United Economy cabin.

United’s San Francisco Hub

San Francisco is United’s largest hub airport on the U.S. West Coast and a gateway to Asia-Pacific. United operates more than 200 daily departures from San Francisco International Airport, taking customers to more than 100 destinations around the globe, including the most international service with flights to 31 different international cities. This winter, the hub will offer direct flights to 15 Asia-Pacific destinations including Manila (Philippines), Auckland and Christchurch (New Zealand), Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney (Australia), Haneda/Tokyo, Narita/Tokyo, and Osaka (Japan), Incheon/Seoul (South Korea), Papeete/Tahiti, Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei.
