Republic Cement executives received the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award at the MalacaƱang Palace last April 20, 2023. Present at the awarding was DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga. Receiving the awards on behalf of Republic Cement were CEO Roman Menz, VP for Manufacturing Lloyd Vicente, VP for Strategy and Business Development Renier Dizon, Teresa Plant Manager Jimmy Torres, Batangas Plant Manager Erwin ļ»æCruz, and Iligan Plant Manager Darwin Magpily.
ļ»æRepublic Cement took home a total of seven awards, including the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Awards for Quarry Operations (Non-Metallic), the highest accolade in the industry, for its Batangas, Iligan, and Teresa Plants. Other awards received included: the Platinum Achievement Award for Quarry Operations (Non-Metallic) for its Bulacan Plant; Safest Mine (Non-Metallic Category for the Batangas plant; and Best Mining Forest (Non-metallic) for the Bulacan plant (1st prize) and Iligan plant (2nd prize).
