Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road development arm of Metro Pacific Investment Corporation (MPIC), kicked off its first medical mission since the pandemic in Kawit, Cavite on Saturday, May 21.

At least 392 children and adult residents of Barangay Aplaya, Kawit, Cavite received free healthcare services from the corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort of the toll road company called “Alagang MPT South Medical Mission” in partnership with the local government of Barangay Aplaya, Joint Task Force-NCR (First Task Brigade, First AFP Reserve Center, and 11th CMO Battalion), One Pharma Company, Inc., Island Luz Minerva Lodge No. 5, F. & A.M., and Kinamak Flame Grilled Burgers and Sausages.

MPT South brought its pool of medical volunteers to Barangay Aplaya Covered Court to offer free services of circumcision, general check-up, pediatric consultation, and wellness services such as foot detox and back massage.

“After the Covid-19 pandemic that seriously limited the movement of everyone, this is the first time that the MPT South conducted this annual medical mission activity. Now that restrictions have been lifted we activate our annual medical missions for our communities. We are very grateful to our partners and also to the volunteers who’ve extended their efforts and been with us on the Day 1 of the event. We hope to conduct more CSR activities in our host communities not just for their health but also for safety and care for the environment” said Arlette V. Capistrano, MPT South Spokesperson and Assistant Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management.

Meanwhile, the officials and members of Barangay Aplaya assist in gathering the patients for the activity and providing the venue and set up for general check up for adults, pedriatric consultations, circumcision area and wellness stations.

“Maraming salamat po sa pamunuan ng Metro Pacific Tollways sa programa pong ito dahil marami pong natulungan mula sa mga bata hanggang sa matatanda. Asahan po ninyo ang suporta po namin sa inyong mga programa lalo kung sa ikabubuti ng mga mamamayan. Maraming salamat po,” said Baragay Aplaya Captain Rommel Fernandez in a statement.

For this year, the toll road company’s “Alagang MPT South Medical Mission” also targets to serve communities in Barangay 183, Pasay City on May 28; and in Barangay Tibig, Silang, Cavite on June 4.

“Alagang MPT South Medical Mission” is a part of MPT South’s corporate social responsibility efforts and is designed to serve people residing in the rim of Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), CAVITEX C5 Link, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), who lack resources to go to paid health facilities to get medical consultations and medical needs. The activity also provides select medicines and vitamins to the participants.

Aside from the CALAX and CAVITEX network of toll roads, MPTC’s domestic portfolio includes the concessions for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the NLEX Connector Road, and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
