Healing together in Roxas City, J. Amado Araneta Foundation supports the Roxas City LGU and the Gerry Roxas Foundation on responding to the needs of the local community during this COVID-19 pandemic.

A City Command Center was set up with personnel working on a 24/7 duty beginning March 21. To give support to overwhelmed front liners, the Gerry Roxas Foundation Convention Center provided daily meals to nearly 300 personnel of the City Command Center, the City Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) task force, the security task force stationed at the eight (8) borders of the city, health workers of the Provincial Health Office and volunteer sewers of PPEs of Capiz State University.

The GRF Convention Center also opened its dormitory and provided free meals and amenities for the quarantined 24 nurses and health workers of the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital who were exposed to persons under investigation or PUIs or patients with positive Covid-19.

To increase morale and appreciate the 114 front liners of Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, Ganda Kits (Vanity Kits) were gifted to them last Easter Sunday along with some Easter goodies.

“GRF is one with the Roxas City Community in the fight against COVID-19. In order to fight, we have to be united as one community. This is like war. Whatever weapons and strategies we have, let’s contribute it for the greater good and to win altogether. We can only do so much individually. Collectively, we make a bigger impact,” said Agnes Q. Villarruz, the Managing Director of the Gerry Roxas Training and Convention Center. “GRF is grateful to people who helped make things happen – to the J. Amado Araneta Foundation, the Roxas City Government, the Team, to families and individuals who contributed, the community. Madamo guid nga salamat!”
