Boosting the promotion of Duty Free Philippines (DFP) to the international market, the state-owned corporation has been intensifying its presence in Meeting, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) events hosted in the Philippines.
Duty Free Philippines just participated in the Centre for Aviation Low-Cost Carrier (CAPA LCC) North Asia Summit in Cebu City, a two-day event that ended Tuesday (June 25).
Chief Operating Officer (COO) Vicente Pelagio A. Angala said the summit was attended by over 300 foreign delegates composed of North Asia’s low-cost carrier CEOs as well as other senior executives from across the aviation value chain.
It was a perfect opportunity to showcase local products, said Angala. “During the conference, DFP gave participants a piece of the Philippine local products. These products are currently sold at the Go Lokal! Kiosk of DFP outlets,” he said.
Earlier this year, Angala announced that export-quality local products will be put in the spotlight by Duty Free Philippines, not just to showcase the Filipino culture but to also provide a marketing tool for micro, small, medium enterprise (MSMEs) to gain access to the global market.
“Events like this give an opportunity to introduce Duty Free Philippines especially to local brands. This also serves as a marketing tool for MSMEs to gain access to the international market,” said Angala.
Some of the major events supported by the DFP this year were 2019 Routes Asia, 7th Union Asia Pacific Regional Conference (APRC), and Manila FAME.
