Trend Micro, the global leader in cyber security solutions warns the public on the risk of neglecting security vulnerability of their computers, network and server.
Trend Micro Philippines Country Manager Ian Felipe, highlighted that since we are already in the digital age, the need to keep the world safe for exchanging digital information. Not only for the individuals but also for consumers, businesses, and governments because losing data can compromise millions or worst, billions of investment as the hackers are always looking for their pray.
He added, “We don’t have to think that we are just Philippines, and being a small country should not worry us. This is a wrong attitude. The issue and threat on cybersecurity is real and should not be neglected, so the mentality that we are just small must not should worry, is not only dangerous because the issue on cyber attack is “when”.
Meanwhile Paul Oliveria, Trend Micro Philippines Technical Communications Head pointed out that we should not ignore data breaches, because the moment the data is available online, it is very difficult to handle it. Hence, by being proactive is the best way to address this issue.
Oliveria, pointed out that there is a growing number of data breaches, and there are mega breaches that involved millions of records. Every minute, every day the threat on data breach is always there.
Nilesh Jain, Vice President for South-East Asia and India, said that to avoid data breach. there are four layers of security to minimize risk and these are e-mail and web protection, end point protection, network protection and server protection.
There are 1,500 cybersecurity companies in the world, but there are millions of cybersecurity issues that need to be addressed.
