Golden State Warriors op gun Stephen Curry was awed and enjoyed to the popular Filipino desert “halo-halo” when he was presented with a bowl in the stage. He dug in on the icy desert of purple yam, pinipig rice and sweet beans and said, “This is cold”. After having his “halo-halo”, he then talked about winning a third straight NBA crown.

Curry will make a special appearance in the opening ceremonies that will begin at 12 pm Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena.

The GSW superstar was overwhelmed thanked the Filipino fans for “all the love and support” during the first day of his short visit to the country.

He arrived in Manila at around 8:45PM, Thursday, and was met at the airport by a lot of fans, eager to see the GSW superstar. Curry said, “Coming out of the airport seeing like 250 fans trying to get a picture and something like that is the part that I still want to enjoy.”

Not known to many, this is Curry second visit to Manila, and the first one was 2015. Heis making a tour across the globe through the auspices of International Tour With Under Armour.From Manila, he will fly to Wuhan, China and Tokyo, Japan and then to Europe.

Interestingly, the Golden State Warriors has the chance to become only the fifth team in NBA history to win three titles in a row after the Minneapolis Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.

Asked for Curry’s reaction on this “chance”, he said, “We have an amazing opportunity to do something that is rarely done in the NBA and that is to win three in a row. I’m excited about the challenge. We want to accomplish the ultimate feel of winning the championship every single year. That’s why we work so hard during the offseason.”

In closing, the NBA superstar said, “Yes, we want more!”
