In the months of May and June 2021, the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines and the EU member-states’ embassies in the Philippines jointly organized a series of events highlighting the partnership, friendship and the shared cultural values between Europe and the Philippines, all under the banner of Viva Europa 2021: Sama-Sama Together.

As part of the monthly Jeudis Culturels (Cultural Thursdays), we invite you to relive the performances of Yumi Soprano at Lakbayin Natin Ang EU, Anne Gauthier Das Neves at Bersong EuroPinoy 2021, and Eric Soulard at the EuroPinoy Concert on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 8:00 PM on the Facebook page of the Embassy of France to the Philippines.

About the artists

Yumi is a 14-year-old Filipina soprano who was named Junior Division Champion of the World for Opera at the 2019 World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in California – a global competition that brought together participants from 60 countries! This talented 8th-grade student also hosts Musikwela Kids TV, an online show for kids, parents and educators that promotes Filipino culture and values.

Anne Gauthier Das Neves studied theater at the William Esper Studio in New York, and has starred in theater productions and independent films in the Philippines, Australia and the US, the most recent of which was playing the role of Lady Macbeth in the Theatertitas’ Macbeth production. Anne is also the founder of Behind the Scenes creative coaching and events.

Eric Soulard studied double bass at the Conservatory of Paris and was privileged to have performed alongside the French jazz group, Les Haricots Rouges. Eric has been living in the Philippines since 2014 and currently owns a resort in Romblon.
