Manila Electric Company (Meralco), led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, has assured customers of stable and reliable electricity service across its franchise area as Filipinos observe the Holy Week.
The country’s largest power distribution utility said it has activated contingency measures and placed response teams on 24/7 standby to immediately address any electricity-related concerns during the long holiday.
“Meralco joins the nation in observing a solemn and safe Holy Week. As a 24/7 service provider, we assure our customers that our crews are fully prepared to respond to any power-related concerns that may arise,” said Joe Zaldarriaga, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications.
As many households prepare to travel or temporarily leave their residences, Meralco reminded customers to observe basic electrical safety measures. These include unplugging appliances when not in use, avoiding overloading outlets, properly organizing electrical wiring, and keeping devices away from water sources.
For service concerns, customers may contact Meralco through its mobile numbers, hotline 16211, the My Meralco app, and official social media platforms.
Meralco also announced that its business centers will be closed from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, with operations resuming on April 6.
