A total of 15 power generation companies, with a combined offered capacity of 725 MW, have expressed interest in Manila Electric Company’s (Meralco) Competitive Selection Process (CSP) for its 200-MW baseload supply requirement for Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) compliance.
The 15 companies were advised to join and participate in the Pre-Bid Conference for this CSP scheduled on January 15, 2026; while for those interested to formally submit offers, the bid submission deadline is set on February 16, 2026.
“The strong interest we received reflects confidence in Meralco’s procurement process. We look forward to receiving competitive and compliant bids that will support our efforts to deliver reliable, sustainable, and least-cost electricity to our customers,” Meralco Bids and Awards Committee for Power Supply Agreements (BAC-PSA) Chairman Lawrence S. Fernandez said in a news release.
“As a highly regulated entity, Meralco remains fully committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency, fairness, and regulatory compliance throughout the CSP,” he added.
The four-year Power Supply Agreement resulting from this CSP, being conducted in accordance with Meralco’s Department of Energy-approved Power Supply Procurement Plan, will cover Meralco’s 200 MW baseload supply requirement for RPS compliance beginning January 26, 2026, subject to the approval of the Energy Regulatory Commission.
