The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) posted its strongest performance yet at the prestigious 2025 International Business Awards (IBA), emerging as one of the most decorated companies among more than 3,800 nominations from over 70 countries.

The power distributor brought home five Gold StevieĀ® Awards for standout leadership in sustainability, innovation, and stakeholder engagement:

  • Sustainability Leadership Award – Asia, Australia, New Zealand
    Powering the Good Life, Meralco’s sustainability agenda, was recognized for positioning energy as a catalyst for inclusive progress and community empowerment.
  • Sustainability Initiative of the Year – Asia, Australia, New Zealand
    Greening the Network earned top honors for strengthening Meralco’s grid to meet climate challenges and embedding resilience in infrastructure.
  • Video: Sustainability and Environment
    A Global Breakthrough: MTerra Solar—the world’s largest integrated solar-battery facility—was cited for its compelling storytelling on accelerating the Philippines’ clean energy shift.
  • Corporate & Community – B2B Event
    Meralco Powerhouse was celebrated for reigniting investor confidence by showcasing the company’s operational strength, growth trajectory, and purpose-driven leadership.
  • Sustainability Hero of the Year – Asia, Australia, New Zealand
    Chief Sustainability Officer Raymond B. Ravelo was honored for integrating sustainability into core operations and steering it as a driver of inclusive growth.

ā€œThese Stevie Awards are a tribute to the nearly 20,000 women and men of One Meralco who work passionately not only to keep the lights on for our over eight million customers, but also to power the good life for all,ā€ Ravelo said. ā€œThis achievement energizes us to keep pushing forward—as a power company and as a force for inclusive national progress.ā€

Meralco also secured eight Silver StevieĀ® Awards, underscoring its commitment to ESG excellence, diversity, and inclusive development:

  • Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion – #Mbrace
  • Achievement in ESG – Powering the Good Life
  • Excellence in Circular Economy Practices – Race to Zero Waste
  • Organization of the Year (Non-Profit/Government – Small) – One Meralco Foundation
  • Corporate & Community, Corporate Event – 9th Meralco Luminaries: Brighter New World and Liwanag Park 2024
  • Sustainability Advocate of the Year – Raymond B. Ravelo
  • Thought Leader of the Year (Government or Non-Profit) – Jeffrey O. Tarayao, One Meralco Foundation President

Rounding out its wins, Meralco earned two Bronze StevieĀ® Awards:

Since 2002, the International Business Awards—often dubbed the ā€œOlympics of the workplaceā€ā€”have recognized outstanding corporate achievements and contributions to global progress.
