The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) assured customers that its crews are fully prepared to respond to possible power outages and service concerns as Super Typhoon Nando (international name: Ragasa) brings heavy rains and strong winds.
With storm signals raised in parts of its franchise area and intensified southwest monsoon rains expected, Meralco said it is closely monitoring the situation to ensure a quick response. “Our crews and personnel are strategically deployed and on standby 24/7. We urge everyone to prioritize safety and remain vigilant, especially in flood-prone areas,” said Joe R. Zaldarriaga, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications.
Meralco also reminded customers of key electrical safety tips during flooding: switch off the main power breaker, keep hands and feet dry before touching appliances, unplug devices, and never use flood-damaged equipment. Customers are advised to call a licensed electrician before restoring power to affected homes.
For concerns and outage reports, customers may contact the Meralco Hotline at 16211, text 0920-9716211 or 0917-5516211, or reach Meralco via its official Facebook and X pages.
