In response to the news published yesterday by THEPHILBIZNEWS about the ethics complaint filed against pharma-linked doctors Luis Raymond T. Go and Viannely Berwyn Flores seeking the revocation of their medical licenses, the physicians’ legal counsel has issued a statement addressing the complaint filed by lawyer and human rights advocate Lorenzo “Erin” Tañada III. The complaint alleges unethical practices by the doctors affiliated with Bell-Kenz Pharma.
Below is the full statement from Atty. Pedro Tanchuling:
We address the complaint lodged by Mr. Tanada against our clients, Dr. Luis Raymond T. Go and Dr. Viannely Berwyn Flores, before the Professional Regulation Commission regarding their alleged “Dishonorable and/or Unprofessional Conduct.”
Out of respect for the Professional Regulation Commission and to preserve the integrity and fairness of the ongoing proceedings under the “Sub-Judice” Rule, all parties— including Mr. Tanada—are required to refrain from making any public statements about this complaint at this time. Because the matter is currently under formal review by the Professional Regulatory Commission, any public comments could unduly influence the process and compromise the impartiality of the hearing. Our clients have been strictly advised not to speak publicly until the case is resolved, and we expect the same restraint
from Mr. Tanada to ensure that the Professional Regulatory Commission can conduct its review without external interference. Our clients are still awaiting formal receipt of the complaint.
It is important to note that Mr. Tanada is neither a patient of our clients nor a member of any medical society or regulatory body. And except for the complaint of Mr. Tanada, our clients have never been charged with any wrongdoing before the PRC or the medical society in which they belong.
Considering the manner and timing of the complaint, we have reasonable grounds to believe that it serves no purpose but to malign the good reputation of our clients to their detriment and prejudice. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies against any individual or entity that seeks to defame, intimidate, or otherwise damage our clients’ good names. Attempts to malign our clients will be met with decisive legal action.
