PLDT Global Corporation, the international arm of PLDT Inc., has partnered with stc Pay Bahrain to enhance digital financial services for Filipinos in Bahrain.
According to a news release from PLDT Global, the collaboration aims to provide overseas Filipinos with easier access to financial services, enabling them to support their families back home in the Philippines more conveniently.
Through the partnership, Filipinos in Bahrain can now manage finances and send support to their families directly through the stc Pay Bahrain app. The integration will offer services such as digital vouchers, electronic gifts, bills payment, and subscription PINs via Vortex, PLDT Global’s secure digital platform.
“This partnership with stc Pay expands our services in the Middle East, allowing us to better serve the Filipino community by providing convenient and reliable solutions for their financial needs,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO of PLDT Global.
In addition to remittance services, users will be able to top up mobile credits, pay postpaid bills, settle utility bills in the Philippines, and access government and insurance services through the stc Pay Bahrain app.
Khalid Alosaimi, Chairman of stc Pay BH, highlighted the significance of the partnership, saying, “By integrating PLDT Global’s services, we are broadening our offerings and strengthening our presence in the international market, further enhancing the digital payment solutions available to our subscribers.”
This move marks an important step in expanding PLDT Global’s digital presence in Bahrain, home to an estimated 50,000 Filipinos. The collaboration also strengthens the ongoing relationship between PLDT Global and stc Group, leveraging advanced technologies to improve connectivity and financial services.
PLDT Global has recently announced similar partnerships with stc Group for international voice calls and stc Bank for secure payments in the region that is home and workplace to over 2 million Filipinos. These efforts align with the companies’ shared commitment to digital transformation and supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
