The FinTech Alliance PH is proud to announce its participation in the 9th Hong Kong FinTech Week (HKFTW) 2024, taking place from October 28 to November 1 at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. This collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong underscores the Philippines’ commitment to being at the forefront of digital innovation in Asia.

HKFTW is organized by the Hong Kong Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and InvestHK, and is recognized as a premier event that brings together global finance and tech leaders. Last year, the event attracted over 35,000 attendees and featured more than 700 exhibitors, creating a vibrant platform for innovation and business partnerships.

The Philippine delegation at HKFTW 2024 will include prominent members of the FinTech Alliance PH, such as Asialink, Bayad, Finscore, RCBC, and Starpay. The FinTech Alliance PH is the largest digital industry association in the Philippines, comprising over 100 corporate members that collectively generate more than 95 percent of the country’s digital-enabled retail financial transaction volume.

“Our participation in HKFTW 2024 represents a strategic collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong aimed at promoting the Philippines as a digital hotspot in Asia,” said Lito Villanueva, Founding Chairman of FinTech Alliance PH and Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer of RCBC. “This event not only allows us to attract partners and investors to the Philippines but also provides an opportunity to learn from global best practices in digital finance.”

“The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong is happy to collaborate with the Fintech Alliance PH during the 2024 Hong Kong FinTech Week. The Consulate is eager to explore more programs with the Alliance to enable the more than 220,000 Overseas Filipinos in Hong Kong to benefit from innovative digital products and services that are tailored specifically to their needs, beginning with initiatives focused on financial education, digital literacy and online remittance,” said Germinia Aguilar-Usudan, Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong.

The FinTech Alliance PH is dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration within the digital financial landscape, and its presence at HKFTW 2024 highlights the Philippines’ potential as a leading destination for digital finance in the region.
