Are you all right, sirs?

Online chatters among PMAers are turning into sharp-edged clashes, as retired and active alumni find themselves at odds over what many now see as the tarnishing of the academy’s sacred creed of “Courage, Integrity, Loyalty.”

Congressional inquiry into the murder of retired police general and former PCSO Corporate Board Secretary Wesley Barayuga has cracked open old wounds, but what’s now spilling out is a deep divide within the PMA brotherhood.

While the general’s assassination raises suspicions, what stings more is the disturbing silence from some of Barayuga’s mistahs, many of whom held key positions under the Duterte administration.

These alumni, once hailed for their duty to country, are now accused of playing lapdog to a graft-ridden, killing-centric regime, fattened by payouts from the powers-that-be. How far will some men go to keep their hands clean—while others are drenched in blood?

One of Barayuga’s own batchmates, a figure of influence during the Duterte era, has come under fire for his unforgivable inaction. Though he shared the same hallowed halls with the slain general, his silence during Barayuga’s ordeal is seen as a betrayal of the brotherhood—an abandonment that cuts deeper than any political allegiance.

The investigation by the House of Representatives’ Quadcom has now sparked a civil war among PMA alumni, as accusations fly in their once-unified circles. Lines have been drawn, and respect for rank is being thrown out the window as mistahs turn on each other, each blaming the other for breaking the “long gray line” they once cherished.

And while the alumni squabble, one man remains conspicuously untouched—the Muse of Dawn. The shadowy figure, always a step ahead, has somehow managed to keep his name out of the fray. But murmurs from high-level A1 informants suggest that this is the man who truly holds the puppet strings—the one who gave the deadly order that led to Barayuga’s demise. The question everyone’s afraid to ask now: Will his name finally surface, or will he slip through the cracks once again?
