Following his successful two-day visit to Manila from September 12-13, European Commission for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn, concludes his visit to the Philippines.
This is the first time that a European Commissioner for Budget and Administration has visited the Philippines.
The Commissioner has taken the opportunity of his stay in Manila to promote investment in EU-bonds as a safe asset and the euro (EUR) as a stable global currency.
He has met with Philippine budget and finance interlocutors from the country.
In only a couple of years, the EU has become one of the largest issuers in euro; it issues about €150 billion per year.
Meanwhile, the Commission has a diversified investor base of around 1,700 different investors from 70 countries. Interest from investors outside Europe is growing.
