SM group shines at 9th Asia Excellence Awards

Eleven awards were taken home by the SM group at the recent 9th Asia Excellence Awards of Hong Kong-based Corporate Governance Asia magazine.
The awards, held last June 28, recognized SM Investments Corporation (SMIC), BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO), and SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SM Prime) for excellence in investor relations and corporate governance.
Recognized as Asia’s Best CEO were BDO Chairperson Teresita Sy-Coson; SMIC President and Chief Executive Officer Frederic DyBuncio; BDO President and CEO Nestor Tan; and SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim.
Tristan Choa, VP for Investor Relations at SM Investments Corp., received the award on behalf of SM from Aldrin Monsod, CG Asia founder, managing director and publisher.
Meanwhile, CG Asia cited SMIC and BDO as Best Investor Relations Company for the ninth straight year. SM Prime bagged the same honor for the sixth year in a row.
Also awarded were various SM companies’ heads of Investor Relations – SMIC’s Tim Daniels, SM Prime’s Alex Pomento and BDO’s Luis Reyes Jr. – who were named Best Investor Relations Professionals.
BDO was also cited for Best Corporate Communications.
