foodpanda recently launched a collaboration with Jia Financing Inc. (Jia) to give its partner merchants additional capital boost.

The collaboration is part of foodpanda’s umbrella program “Negosyo Like a Panda” which offers business loans to partner merchants to help them stock more inventories and match the increasing demand for their products.

“Both foodpanda and Jia worked on crafting the loan offering to make sure that the application process is easy, repayment is hassle-free, and more importantly, the interest rate is affordable and designed to really help the business owners,” said Lhecks De Castro, foodpanda Philippines’ Director of Finance.

De Castro shared that most of their partner vendors are small businesses that need an extra hand and support when it comes to financing and growing their operations. “Our partnership with Jia is one of the many significant steps we’re taking to help our partners with their finances, giving them the tools and advice they need to expand their business.”

“Jia is thrilled to partner with foodpanda to bring fair financing to its network of merchants, restaurants, vendors and delivery partners,” said Jia Co-Founder & CEO Zach Marks. “Our partnership is about more than just financial support; it’s about empowering foodpanda’s partner merchants to thrive in their businesses and continue to bring delicious meals to Filipino families and consumers.”

Marks explained that they committed to making access to finance easy, affordable, and impactful. “We are excited to embark on this journey with foodpanda to create a lasting positive impact in the Philippines,” he added.

Financing opportunities for partner vendors

Last year, foodpanda launched The Negosyo Like a Panda Loans Caravan to offer financing options to its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) partner vendors by partnering with local banks and financial institutions. The program will visit different areas nationwide to offer free loan consultations and exclusive discounted interest rates, adding Jia to their rosters of financing partners.

The partners also revealed that they are planning to expand the current partnership. “Our goal is to serve more partner merchants in the coming weeks and plan even to extend the loan offering to foodpanda logistics delivery partners,” they confirmed.
