Phl’s courtesy visit to Japan tackles maritime security cooperation and regional stability

On February 14, 2024, commencing at 10:30am, for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. KOMURA Masahiro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Vice Admiral Toribio Dulinayan Adaci Jr., Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy, during his visit to Japan. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.

At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Komura welcomed the visit of Vice Admiral Adaci and stated that amidst the multiple crises the international community is facing, Japan attaches great importance to cooperation with the Philippines as a neighboring maritime nation and a strategic partner, in order to maintain and strengthen the free and open international order based on the rule of law.

Vice Admiral Adaci expressed his gratitude to the Government of Japan for its decision to provide coastal radar systems to the Philippine Navy under “Official Security Assistance” (OSA) programme for the first project after its establishment.

They concurred to further strengthen the maritime security cooperation for peace and stability in the region.
