The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) welcomed the holidays in its GREAT British Christmas Celebration on December 6, 2023, in partnership with Allianz PNB, Etihad Airways, HSBC, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Pru Life UK, Shell and other minor and major sponsors in celebration of the UK-PH trade relations.

With over a hundred attendees– from the British Chamber’s member companies in various sectors and representatives from the British Embassy Manila, the event highlighted the spirit of Christmas as well as shared optimism on the growing British business community in the Philippines within the succeeding years.

British Embassy Manila Deputy Head of Mission Alistair White

Alistair White, Deputy Head of Mission (British Embassy Manila), BCCP Chairman William Bailey, and BCCP Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson delivered the opening and welcoming remarks which emphasized on the efforts and commitment of the British Embassy in partnership with the British Chamber in achieving its objectives on making the Philippines as an investment destination, ease of doing business, and increasing the British presence in the country.

Previously, the British Chamber also hosted its Meat Trade Mission Year-End Gathering on 30 November to celebrate the meat trade relations between the UK and the Philippines, with the latter being the second largest UK pork export market next to China in Asia. Lastly, a 32% increase of the total trade in goods and services was recorded in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023–reaching up to £2.9 billion, making the Philippines as UK’s 59th largest trading partner.
