The global EY organization, a leader in assurance, tax, transaction, and consulting services, announced the opening of its newest Global Delivery Services (GDS) center in Cebu this October. This is the second center for EY GDS in the Philippines.
Currently, it operates in Manila with more than 5,000 professionals. This strategic move sees the new EY GDS center joining a global network that spans multiple service lines, geographies and industry sectors. With over 74,000 people working across borders, EY GDS provides innovative and strategic business solutions to EY member firms and EY clients worldwide. Coinciding with the eighth anniversary of EY GDS in the Philippines, the Cebu center opening represents a significant scaling of operations in the Philippines, which started with 25 people in 2015 and grew to over 5,000 people this year.
“The Philippines is a vital component of our growth strategy, and we are delighted to broaden our footprint in the country by building teams comprising the extraordinary talents in and around Cebu. The highly skilled and diverse professionals from the region will raise the bar in terms of service quality. They will work closely with EY teams across service lines and sectors to drive innovation, contribute to global knowledge, and develop automated solutions that help EY clients transform and operate efficiently,” said Mukul Pachisia,
EY GDS Global Operations Leader. Multidisciplinary EY GDS teams in Cebu will work closely with EY professionals to help EY clients in the Asia-Pacific and beyond accelerate business transformation through industry-focused solutions. To achieve this, EY GDS will grow capabilities across the Tax, Assurance and Consulting service lines and hire professionals in Cebu and from surrounding regions with advanced digital skills and experience in payroll and advisory services, global compliance and reporting, core audit services, as well as technologies like SAP and ServiceNow.
The inauguration of the new center marks another milestone in the organization’s longstanding journey to support the technology transformation in the country and help strengthen the Philippines’ position as a preferred IT-BPM destination. Nitin Dhavale, EY GDS Philippines Location Leader, added,
“The new center will showcase local talent and provide a platform for skilled professionals from Cebu and surrounding areas to develop their leadership skills and acquire new competencies in emerging technologies. EY GDS professionals thrive in an environment that values wellbeing and empowers professionals to pursue learning opportunities, from collaborating with cross-border teams and getting inspired by a mentor, to participating in instructor-led classes or signing up for independent learning.”
EY GDS Philippines is currently the second largest location in the EY GDS global network, and the Cebu center will further strengthen the delivery of services to EY member firms around the world. The latest addition to the network will work closely with EY GDS teams around the world
