Despite the pronouncement of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency that the ALPS treated water released by Japan into the sea is safe and has a very low effect on human health or the environment, China seems to be hellbent on stoking their compatriots by exaggerating the risk using the social media with a narrative of that the water is contaminated and dangerous to the health.

Japan made a full disclosure to the international community about its plan to release the treated water way before the protest from China happened. Experts in both health and nuclear energy organizations are monitoring the progress and with this, it seems that China is the only one protesting this and Japan even asked them to stop politicizing the issue on ALPS water treatment release.

Overpowered by the experts in the international community, China proceeded with its gameplan and resorted to fake news and as reported in Japan, the incessant nuisance calls that allegedly coming from China has been taking place.

Meanwhile, Japan’s envoy to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) to express his concern regarding harmful and baseless rumors about the discharge of ALPS treated water being propagated by Japan.
