EU to showcase the best gastronomic offerings at Euro Village from June 3-4

From Belgian waffles to crépes, flammekueche to pasta and cheese to chewy stroopwafel and profeertjes to a wide range of beer and juices.

On 3 and 4 June, the Capitol Commons Park in Pasig will be teeming with not just these food but with mime artists and buskers and sports demonstrations, all from the European Union and its Member States with guest country, Ukraine.

Chefs and business partners of the EU Member States’ Embassies of Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Romania and Finland are joining this year’s first Euro Village.

The Euro Village will be inaugurated by H. E. Luc Véron, European Union Ambassador to the Philippines, Ambassadors Michel Parys (Belgium), Jana Sediva (Czech Republic), Titanilla Toth (Hungary), Marielle Geraedts, Chargé d’ affaires, a.i. Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz (Poland). They will be joined by The Hon Congressman Roman Romulo (Pasig City), Pasig City Administrator Jeronimo, The Hon Congressman Eric Yap and Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Lenna De Dios-Sison.

The essence of the Euro Village is to strengthen people-to-people links and to enable the European diverse cultures be more accessible to the Filipinos.

Learning a language is also a great journey to explore. The Euro Village also enjoys the collaboration of Alliance Française de Manille, Goethe Institut, Instituto Cervantes Manila and the Philippine-Italian Association. Aspiring multilingualists will surely have a chance to discovering that learning languages is fun and interesting.

To ensure that this EU’s initiative promotes a sustainable lifestyle and reduction of greenhouse emissions, the EU has engaged with Green Space, Scholars of Sustenance Philippines and EcoNest as sustainability partners.
