THE CATALYST: How to Develop the Power of Belief

We are what we believe we are.

Our brain which manages our thoughts and beliefs is powerful to make what we think or believe into reality. If we believe that we will be successful in an activity we set, we will be successful. If we believe that we will fail, then most likely it will happen. So, believing that we can is the first step to the pathway of success that we want to experience. Believe in yourself and goods things will happen.

It is easier said than done you might think. Let me share with you three (3) ways on how to develop the power of belief.

  1. Think success, don’t think failure. Substitute success thinking for failure thinking in every aspect of your life, both for personal and professional spectrums of your life. More commonly, when we do things and our sense of self belief is low, we attract the likelihood of failure to it. Because we have done so, all negativities now come into the picture affecting the results to how you thought of it – yes, failing and not succeeding. If you are in a scenario that you have to compete for a promotion at work, never think that you are less than your competition, always you are at part or better than them.  When opportunity appears, do not think “I can’t.” but always “I can.”. Programming your mind to success thinking conditions your mind to create plans and take actions that lead to success. If this how you think right now, I encourage you to move to success thinking right after you finish reading this line!
  2. Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not superheroes. Success is a result of the power of belief and does not require super intellect nor anything magical or mystical. It is not also based on luck. Successful people are ordinary people who decided to develop the power of belief specially in success thinking.Never sell yourself short, never. Based on my personal experience, I have low points when it keeps bugging me that I am not fit for the job or can not do the project or there is a better person and yes, it is not a good feeling. Aside from training your mind to see the better version of yourself at times, it will always be easier if you also have a good support system as you start practicing these tips here.
  3. Believe big. The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief.Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. Big ideas and big plans would require more time and effort but always be worth it at the end. Remember tips # 1 and 2 and you can pull off #3. Just like what I told the graduating students from my elementary Alma Mater during their 2nd virtual graduation, “You have to dream. When you dream, dream big, dream high. And when you have those dreams, believe that you can achieve them and do not forget to make them happen.”.

I am not the kind of person who will write or talk about believing in myself that I can. I was once a negative thinker. I only see the negative things that happen around me. But when learned about the power of believing in myself and the things that I can do, things change. Things became easier, lighter, and happier. There’s no harm if you will also try and shift to this side of the spectrum and you will also be surprised that it can help you become #significantlybetter.
