Philippines remains the largest global importer of the brand.

Despite an exceptionally challenging 2021, BMW Motorrad, with the support of the Filipino riding community, posted record highs not only in the region but also across the globe.

This success story is expected to be carried onto 2022 by the official importer and distributor of BMW motorcycles in the Philippines, SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. With a growing line-up and various riding experiences slated for the year, the brand promises even more exciting times ahead for its customers and aspiring owners.

Strong sales growth in 2021

BMW Motorrad in the Philippines finished the year with its best-ever sales result. With 2,025 units sold, the Philippines remains the largest importer of BMW Motorrad in the world for the second straight year.

A number of product introductions drove the increased presence of the brand in the different segments and the riding community. 2021 saw the entry of the new R nineT models, 40 Years GS Edition Adventure bikes, F 750 GS and F 850 GS middleweight adventure touring motorcycles, and the first true M motorcycle from BMW Motorrad – the BMW M 1000 RR. These underline the high innovative strength and passion of the brand for the years to come.

Looking ahead at 2022

BMW Motorrad in the Philippines has a lot planned for a thrilling future. Beyond its growing range of motorcycles, customers and fans may expect activities for the growing community and events promoting safety on and off the road such as the BMW Motorrad Rider Training Program.

In terms of product, the brand is strengthening the middleweight adventure touring range with the availability of the BMW F 750 GS and BMW F 850 GS. BMW Motorrad intends to initiate more riding experiences that will engage new riders and the active community present in this segment.

There will also be even more opportunities to test ride the celebrated S 1000 R, coveted R 1250 GS and GS Adventure, and iconic R 18 cruiser. Urban mobility scooters such as the C 400 X and C 400 GT will remain available as well.

“Our customers and fans should watch out for some surprises. After all, we at BMW Motorrad are committed to making products and services more accessible and ultimately more enjoyable for everyone. Our community is bigger than ever, and we cannot wait to bring more riders into the BMW family soon,” says SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. President Spencer Yu.
