Always showing their utmost care and love for the country and the Filipinos, the Korean government donated 1,000 metric tons of rice to victims of the recent super typhoons in the Philippines. The Korean government’s rice donation was made under the tier 3 program of the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR).
The Philippine government held a Turnover Ceremony of the 1,000 MT of rice donation from the Korean government at the NFA (National Food Authority)’s Batangas Regional Office on December 18, 2020.
Counsellor Sang-hui Lee attended the Turnover Ceremony and gave a speech acknowledging the Korea-Philippines bilateral relations and cooperation on behalf of Ambassador Dong-man Han, accompanied by First Secretary Seah Park from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.
NFA Administrator Judy Dansal, Department of Agriculture Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa, Department of Social Welfare and Development Director Emmanuel Privado, NFA Region IV Regional Director Piolito Santos, NFA Assistant Administrator Gerry Ambrosio, NFA Assistant Administrator for Marketing Operations Engr. Lemuel Pagayunan, etc attended the Turnover Ceremony and expressed deep gratitude to the Korean government for the rice donation to the victims of the recent typhoons in the Philippines. APTERR Secretariat General Manager Chanpithya Shimphalee and Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua also sent video messages for the occasion.
