Since the advent of COVID19 in the Philippines, the e-commerce industry grows significantly and even the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported last September 2020 that business name registration of online businesses boomed from 1,753 in January-March 15 this year–or before the declaration of the community quarantine–to 75,876 as of September 2.

Cognizant of the logistics and efficient supply chain by having reliable, reasonably priced, and efficient small to medium-sized trucks to meet the rising demand for online shopping and parcel delivery across the country, Hino Motors Philippines (HMP), the exclusive distributor of Hino trucks and buses in the Philippines, recently turned over seven units of the Hino 300 series to local courier service J&T Express Philippines.

The turnover ceremony, which was held at the courier’s Bagumbayan, Taguig warehouse, was graced by representatives from Hino Motors Philippines, Hino Parañaque and J&T Express. Physical distancing and other health protocols were strictly observed during the event.

“We extend Total Support to local businesses such as J&T who not only respond to the growing demand for online shopping but also keep the economy moving. The world hasn’t been the same since March. But our mission of moving people and goods safely and responsibly, a commitment we had for the past 45 years, remains. As we adapt to the new normal, we will be manufacturing more light to medium-duty trucks designed for home deliveries alongside heavy-duty trucks suitable for warehouse deliveries,” shares Hino Motors Philippines Chairman Vicente T. Mills, Jr.

Part of J&T Express Philippines acquired trucks from Hino Motor Philippines. Apart from these, J&T Express has also ordered 20 units each of the light-duty XZU730L and XZU342LM, and 10 units of the medium-duty FG8J. The trucks are Euro 4-compliant with chassis dimensions and horsepower designed for deliveries

A trusted name in the assembly and distribution of quality trucks, buses and spare parts, Hino will continue to be at the forefront of addressing modern consumer demands, be these in online shopping, transportation systems or ergonomic vehicles. The company is keen on staying true to its promise of providing lifetime value and in line with its Total Support commitment.
