With the much-needed support in the time of the pandemic, the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), the social development arm of Araneta City, reached out to Roxas City’s CROPS FOR CREATIVES.
The CROPS FOR CREATIVES is a local-farmer-driven food security outreach program intended to support artists affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
Given away were sack bags containing local produce bought from small-scale farmers were distributed to members of the arts and entertainment community. Items include vegetables from Bolo vegetable farms, rice from Gabu-an, and dried fish from Dumolog.
CROPS FOR CREATIVES is a concerted effort of the Roxas City government, Ang Panublion Museum, Gerry Roxas Foundation, Hublag Foundation, with the support of J. Amado Araneta Foundation.
#ResilientPinoy
The pandemic has really stopped the world, and the adverse effect is the fact that many lives are affected — lost jobs, companies shutdown and financial needs continue to be a major problem.
And the sad truth is, the struggle is real – especially for businesses. No one was spared, from the micro, small, and medium (MSM) scale industries, the challenges remain and as we charter to the unknown, it seems that those who have more resources look like would be the survivors.
On the other hand, there are those who hit the bottom and quit, those who found new opportunities, and those who are resilient enough and bounced back. This is their story. This is why #ResilientPinoy came into being.
The stories in JAAF’s #ResilientPinoy will feature spirited Pinoy entrepreneurs’ inspiring tales of staying relevant, being tough, and going on with the business at this time of the new normal.
If there is one realization during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is the fact that the struggle is real – especially for businesses. There are those in the micro, small, and medium (MSM) scale industries who are not as well-resourced as those who are in large businesses. With an invisible culprit, the environment has suddenly changed, and the norms were shaken. There are those who hit the bottom and quit, those who found new opportunities, and those who are resilient enough and bounced back. This is their story. This is why #ResilientPinoy was born.
JAAF’s #ResilientPinoy comes out every Tuesday in the digital pages of J. Amado Araneta Foundation. Check them out on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
