The operator of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has assured the public of continued safety measures following a ceiling panel collapse at Terminal 1 late Friday morning.

In a statement, New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) said the incident occurred at around 10:43 a.m. on April 3, 2026, at the West Arrival Curb C area outside the passenger terminal building, near a food concession outlet.

Seven individuals in the vicinity sustained minor injuries and were immediately attended to. All are reported to be in stable condition.

NNIC said its medical team, airport security personnel, and the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group promptly responded to the scene, secured the area, and assisted those affected.

The affected section was quickly cordoned off, while the company’s engineering team conducted a thorough inspection of the surrounding structure. NNIC confirmed that the area has since been cleared and deemed safe for normal operations.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the incident. The airport operator said it is coordinating closely with relevant authorities and will implement necessary measures based on the findings.

NNIC added that it continues to extend assistance to those involved, reiterating that the safety and well-being of passengers, airport personnel, and visitors remain its top priority.

Further updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
