MPower, the retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Company (Meralco) led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, has expanded its partnership with Mr. Freeze Tube Ice Inc. under the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), enabling more facilities to benefit from competitive power supply arrangements.
The latest undertaking covers four additional Mr. Freeze ice plants in the Greater Manila Area. These facilities will now enjoy cost-efficient and reliable electricity supply through MPower, strengthening the ice manufacturer’s operational efficiency and cost management.
The expansion builds on Mr. Freeze’s earlier move in November to consolidate the electricity demand of 27 of its Metro Manila plants. By aggregating its load requirements, the company maximized opportunities under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), optimizing its power procurement strategy.
“We value having an energy partner that not only supports our electricity needs but also empowers our business to grow,” said Gerry Santos.
Beyond the aggregation initiative, Mr. Freeze has maintained a longstanding relationship with Meralco since 2005. The company was also recognized as the first recipient of the Luminary Award under the small and medium enterprise category in 2011.
“MPower is grateful for the continued trust that Mr. Freeze places in us. This inspires us to consistently go beyond expectations as we enhance the customer experience for all our partners,” said Redel M. Domingo, Meralco Senior Vice President and Head of MPower.
The expanded collaboration underscores how strategic energy partnerships and load aggregation can help businesses enhance competitiveness while ensuring stable and dependable power supply.
