Wine is getting a glow-up at Araneta City. And this time, it’s not just for special occasions or people who can pronounce every grape in French.

World Cellar, the newest concept at World Kitchens in Gateway Mall 2, is rethinking how we experience wine. Instead of the usual formal, hush-hush wine lounge vibe, this space is all about making wine feel part of everyday life — approachable, fun, and something you can actually explore without pressure.

The idea is simple: Good wine shouldn’t feel exclusive. World Cellar focuses on curated selections at friendlier price points, encouraging guests to taste, discover, and find what they like. Not just stick to one “safe” bottle every time.

Inside, you’ll find an impressive collection of up to 4,000 bottles from well-known wine regions around the world. From classic Old World labels to bold New World varietals, the lineup is built to spark curiosity, whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or someone just figuring out the difference between red and white.

The space itself feels elevated but relaxed. Expansive wine displays and a customized chiller system — developed with Singapore’s Celsius Equipment and Taiwan’s Cellar Solutions — keep every bottle stored in ideal conditions. The design, by Singapore-based AT+Co (also behind World Kitchens), strikes that sweet spot between elegant and welcoming.

World Cellar seats over 60 guests, but the experience doesn’t stop at its own tables. Here’s where it gets interesting: You can order wine from World Cellar and enjoy it anywhere inside World Kitchens. Or pick a bottle and pair it with dishes from any of the 15 surrounding show kitchens — from Asian flavors to European plates and modern comfort food.

It’s a choose-your-own-pairing situation, and it makes wine feel less like a “wine bar” thing and more like something that belongs at every table.

Guided wine tastings are also in the works, designed to help guests branch out and try new styles. A specially trained team is always around to help with recommendations, so even if you don’t know what to order, you won’t feel lost.

By working directly with local merchants, World Cellar keeps prices closer to retail, proving that drinking well doesn’t have to mean spending more.

World Cellar soft-opened on January 15 at Level 4, Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City. For inquiries and reservations: +63 918 939 4537 or wk.reservations.aranetagrp@gmail.com.
