One Meralco Foundation (OMF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), energized 168 low-income households in Pasig City ahead of the Christmas season, providing families with safe, legal, and reliable electricity.
The initiative, part of OMF’s Household Electrification Program, was led by Pasig City Mayor Ma. Regis Vico Sotto together with Meralco Chief Revenue Officer and OMF Trustee Engr. Ferdinand O. Geluz and Meralco Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer and OMF President Jeffrey O. Tarayao.
Mayor Sotto underscored the project’s focus on public safety, citing the risks posed by illegal connections and costly submeters. Geluz reaffirmed Meralco’s commitment to continuous and reliable power service through strong partnerships with local government units.
“Christmas is indeed brighter in Pasig homes. The lights now illuminating these households are more than symbols of the season—they reflect our shared bayanihan and a commitment to lighting the way for one another. We are honored to extend this gift of light to our neighbors across Pasig City, empowering families to be more productive and to contribute meaningfully to their communities,” said OMF President Jeffrey O. Tarayao.
Through its Household Electrification Program, One Meralco Foundation has energized over 80,000 households nationwide, supporting the government’s goal of achieving 100% electrification by 2028. Beyond powering homes, the initiative continues to drive productivity, create lasting impact, and uplift communities across the Philippines.
