The Asian Consulting Group (ACG) wrapped up its 2025 U.S. Roadshow with a clear message to global investors: The Philippines is accelerating economic reforms, strengthening transparency, and positioning itself as a competitive destination for sustainable, long-term investment.
Held across New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Los Angeles, the roadshow gathered U.S. investors, policymakers, Filipino-American leaders, and global institutions to advance discussions on tax modernization, climate-responsive investment, and deeper PH-US economic engagement.
The series opened in New York with the launch of Reimagining the World Without Climate Change, hosted by the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Trade & Investment Center-New York (PTIC-NY).
Consul General Senen T. Mangalile and Trade Commissioner Alma F. Argayoso led the event, joined by philanthropist and business icon Loida Nicolas Lewis, who underscored the link between ethical leadership, climate action, and investment growth.

In Washington, D.C., ACG Chief Tax Advisor and Global Tax Policy Expert Mon Abrea outlined a comprehensive vision for globally aligned tax reform during the Philippine Investment Forum 2025 organized by the U.S.-Philippines Society. Abrea called for lower compliance costs, MSME protection, updated tax treaties, fair and risk-based audit systems, and stringent action against high-risk and politically connected tax evaders.
A major highlight of the roadshow was Abrea’s continued collaboration with global institutions—including the World Bank, IMF, OECD, and International Tax and Investment Center (ITIC). He recently co-authored an op-ed with ITIC President Daniel Witt calling for a “modern, transparent PH-US tax treaty that supports competitiveness, strengthens investor protections, and reinforces the rule of law.”
Support from Ambassador Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez, DCM Jaime Ramon T. Ascalon Jr., Consul Hans Mohaimin Siriban, Trade Commissioner Kenneth Yap, and community leader Bing Cardenas Branigin helped deepen engagement with U.S. companies and foreign chambers.
In San Francisco, the forum Building Global Partnerships: Partner, Grow, and Succeed in the Philippines drew strong interest from Silicon Valley investors looking at sustainability-driven expansion. The session was co-led by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz G. Cortes, Trade Commissioner Anne Marie Kristine Umali, and Vice Consul Hannah Eloisse V. Go.
The Los Angeles roundtable, hosted by Consul General Adelio Angelito Cruz and Consul Francis Maynard Maleon, emphasized the Philippines’ growing appeal as a hub for transparent, innovation-friendly investment—boosted by pro-business reforms and ACG’s policy advocacy.
With the U.S. leg completed, ACG now proceeds to Canada for the final phase of its 2025 International Tax and Investment Roadshow, in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and PTIC Toronto.
“Across all four U.S. cities, one message was unmistakable: the Philippines is ready to compete globally,” Abrea said. “With FilAm leaders like Loida Nicolas Lewis, international partners like ITIC, and the full support of our diplomatic corps, we are laying the groundwork for modernized tax treaties, stronger investor protections, and genuine anti-corruption reforms that restore trust and unlock long-term growth.”
ACG expressed gratitude to Ambassador Jose Victor Chan-Gonzaga and Trade Commissioner Mario Tani for leading preparations for the Canada mission, which aims to expand discussions on tax policy, investment opportunities, and sustainability partnerships.
