Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has announced a reduction in its overall electricity rates this month.
This December, power rates are down by ₱0.3557 per kWh due to lower transmission and generation charges, bringing the overall rate for a typical household to ₱13.1145 per kWh.
“Residential customers with a typical consumption of 200 kWh will benefit from a reduction of around ₱71 in their total electricity bill this month,” Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga said in a news release.
“With the holiday season drawing near, we hope this adjustment provides welcome relief to our customers,” he added.
